Basic principles of training – Breathing correctly while exercising 09

Breathing correctly while exercising 09
It is highly recommended that when performing any movement you inhale while lowering the resistance (#eccentric phase of the movement) and exhale while lifting the resistance (#concentric phase of the movement)

The reason for this is that holding your breath while performing a movement has been shown to increase #blood #pressure, therefore requiring the heart to develop more pressure to eject blood which makes the work of the heart more difficult!

Practical application – focus on breathing correctly when performing any exercise, it also helps improve your mind-muscle connection (ability to solely contract the working muscle)

Feel free to DM me on Facebook or Instagram (just search Damon Artiss) or email me at for any training help or advice!

Again feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have and I’ll be sure to answer in the comments or create a blog post answering your questions!

Best wishes,

Damon 👍
