Vitamin D sources and benefits 06

Vitamin D helps aid calcium absorption, regulate the amount of calcium and phosphorus in the body and is necessary for building bone mass and preventing bone loss! 

This is why vitamin D is important when recovering from injury (fractures) as it allows the body to absorb the calcium needed to repair the bones!

A lack of vitamin D can result in poor bone health and therefore increase the likelihood of injury! It can also cause Rickets (aka “soft bones”) in children!

Recommended daily intake for both men and woman is around 15-20mcg!

Good sources of vitamin D comes from red meat, Fish and egg yolks!
