What is Vo2 max? 🚴
#Vo2 max (aka maximal oxygen consumption) is a measure of the maximum volume of oxygen that an individual can use and is measured in millilitres per kilogram of bodyweight per minute (ml/kg/min).
The Vo2 max test is a test of #aerobic capacity and is commonly used to assess athletes fitness levels in a variety of sports!
I completed the Vo2 max test on both bikes seen in the picture to see if they have a difference on Vo2 max! The one on the left is an #Excalibur sport load bike (known as the gold standard in ergometry) and keeps the wattage output the same no matter what the revolutions per minute (rpm) are, whereas on the @wattbike (bottom right) it’s up to the user to keep the wattage constant!
Top right picture is all the #physiological data produced after the test, which can be very useful in prescribing #training programmes for athletes to improve specific aspects of fitness and top right is just me absolutely drained after the test! 😴🚴
